We can apply leather to both timber and metal rails, working both on and off-site, for private residences and commercial or retail premises. Handrails can be curved, elliptical, spiral or straight runs, with rails sitting on glass balustrades, spindles, or wall mounted brackets.
Working specifically with leather at Hide and Stitch has given us the edge in understanding how well it performs in certain applications. We have completed projects all across the country, including architecturally designed handrails that run continuously over several floors, to more traditional style rails, over just a few metres. We can also supply a wide selection of leather samples: From full aniline and pigmented corrected grains, to elaborate embossed designs from a variety of different leather suppliers: Edelman, Ed Tanner, Spinneybeck, Whistler, Crest Leather and Andrew Muirhead.
The gallery below illustrates the wide variety of handrails we have completed. You can also visit our other H&S Leather Handrails site.
HIDE AND STITCH LEATHER HANDRAILS – THE PROCESS
From initial enquiry to getting on site, our lead times can be as short as a week. Based on drawings or photographs supplied we can provide a price on a per/mtr basis, or for the whole project.
Once approved, our first site visit confirms the condition and positioning of the rails, taking dimensions and templating that will allow us to return to site prepared to complete the work.
On-site work involves setting up a ‘mini-workshop’ with sewing machine and tools required to finish the cutting and sewing with the minimum of disruption.
Depending upon the nature of the project and the stage of completion, we can work both on and off-site. Where handrails can be removed, we work on these in our workshop and return and fit on on-site when required. Alternatively, and as is often the case, we are on-site at the end of a project where completion times are critical.
Send us your drawings, sketches or photographs and we will be happy to price your leather handrail and provide samples.
